A RIVER
Life is like a fast flowing river
Always flowing by its sheerness
Rising over obstacles unimaginable
Some small, some insurmountable.
When the tide seems so ferocious
And the current seeming so vicious
Do not easily lose hope upon yourself
Remember a river flows even over a cliff.
With one sustained power you can
Leave a mark as a waterfall on a rock
Creating an indelible enduring legacy
Giving hope and life to the hopeless.
With determination and faith
All the hardships will be embraced
And seen as a necessary part of life
Rather than sneered upon with disdain.
When faced with myriad tribulations
Like a current dig deep in silence
As you summon all the energy within
To be a living example of Statue of Liberty.
